Architect: LUDILY

Lighting: Nedgis

Location: Nice

In the heart of Nice's Place du Pin, this once dark and dilapidated apartment has been transformed to bring in natural light. Our aim was to create an architecture that was uncluttered, intimate and warm. Given its decrepit condition, a thorough renovation was required, including a complete overhaul of the floor and extensive structural repairs.

One of the major transformations was the removal of the partition that once separated the living room from the former bedroom, to create a double living room. On one side, a wooden kitchen with a minimalist design harmoniously combines with a curved bench seat, which in turn encompasses part of the dining table, in reference to the restaurant business. On the other side, the living area has been painted in a warm white, creating a pure atmosphere and uncluttered simplicity. The whole of this double living room is adorned with cornices and a partially arched picture rail frames a mirror, making this space the heart of the apartment.

The entrance hall, partitioned by woodwork, stands out visually from the double living room. A shower room has been designed in the former storeroom, using natural, timeless materials. In the two bedrooms, the atmosphere is soothing, with straight lines, oak joinery and curtains rising from the ceiling, visually enlarging the space, reinforcing the feeling of openness and purity.
