Humble's beginnings date back to 2018 when Jorren Teertstra teamed up with the designers at APE Amsterdam. With a love of design and an aversion to cables, they set out to create a modern alternative to the ultimate mood lighting: candles. Their first lamp quickly became a household favorite, thanks to its long life and distinctive bulb. They named themselves "Humble", in reference to this friendly little lamp.
From their studio in Amsterdam's Houthavens district, they design and develop lighting in close collaboration with their production partner in China. They both share the same goal: to build lighting fixtures that last, using only the most resistant components and materials. If something does break, don't worry: all designs are modular and components can be easily replaced.
