Susan Elo is the designer of the minimalist and geometric Pilke Valo collection. She designed the Pilke Risukko collection in collaboration with Sami Lahtinen.
Based in Helsinki, Susan Elo is a lighting, furniture and interior designer. She completed her master's studies at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. Her project The Forest and I (Minä ja metsä) received a five-year state grant.
The designer is inspired by the four Nordic seasons to decipher the nuances of light.
For the Pilke brand, Suzan Elo worked on Valo, which means light. Valo lamps are handmade from solid wood. The designer wants her conception of natural lighting to create well-being and respect for the wood.
