Advice and fast quotations for all your projects
Manufacture XXI is a Dijon-based publishing house belonging to the French Cogitech group.
The brand was created in 2020 and defines itself as the manufacture of the twenty-first century. Drawing on the Cogitech group's industrial production strength and know-how, Manufacture XXI offers a collaborative, virtuous and exploratory approach to materials. The brand's primary vision is not to restrict itself by creating freely, while respecting the demands of materials.
At the crossroads of industry and craftsmanship, Manufacture XXI places people at the heart of its manufacturing process, from the sketch of an idea to its realization. Digital tools are invaluable. By combining the human and the machine, the brand has created a process that multiplies the possibilities and avenues of research.
A true ode to materials, and in line with architect Louis Sullivan's "form follows function", Manufacture XXI asserts that "form follows raw material". The design studio adapts to the raw material and draws inspiration from it, with the credo of "interpreting the material without ever betraying it". The sourcing of innovative, environmentally-friendly raw materials is at the heart of the creative process.
Finally, Manufacture XXI places the environment at the heart of its manufacturing process. The products we create are respectful of both people and the environment. This begins with the sourcing of raw materials: natural, recycled and recyclable composites. The Noda collection, for example, is made from recycled cellulose. Then there's the manufacturing process, with processes that are neutral for the planet: molding, hand-coating, air-drying and limiting production waste.
Manufacture XXI not only experiments with innovative new materials, but also enjoys reworking materials of yesteryear, defending a craft of the future based on natural resources.
