Anne Dorte is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts, and received her Bachelor's degree from the Aarhus School of Architecture. She has a background in crafts, having taken a course in fine joinery at KTS (Copenhagen University of Technology) and at Capella Garden, the craft and design school founded by Karl Malmsten. She is a member of the Autumn Furniture Exhibition (Snedkernes Efterårsudstilling) and the Danish Artists' Association (Kunstnersamfundet).

Her work is based on the study and treatment of materials. In her small and large-scale works, she strives to reveal the inherent properties of materials and their technical possibilities. Craft is at the heart of her understanding of processes and materials. Her work is based on an experimental, exploratory approach rooted in the tradition of Danish design.

Ann Dorte Vester founded her studio in 2012, focusing on architecture and design.

With Maria Brun, she founded MBADV and collaborated on projects at the intersection of architecture, design and art from 2013 to 2022.
