David Alan Chipperfield, born on December 18, 1953 in London, England, is an internationally renowned British architect.

David Chipperfield studied at Kingston Polytechnic and then at the Architectural Association in London, where he graduated in 1977. He then collaborated on a few projects with Douglas Stephen, Richard Rogers and Norman Foster before opening his own firm in 1984, which he named David Chipperfield Architects.
Its agency - based in London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai - now has 250 employees from 15 different countries, working on various projects in Europe, the United States and China.

Among the firm's most significant achievements: the River and Rowing Museum (Henley on Thames), the Anchorage Museum of History and Art (Alaska), the City of Justice in Barcelona, the America's Cup Building "Veles e Vents" (Valencia, Spain) and the Neues Museum (Berlin). The main projects in progress are: Ansaldo, the City of Cultures (Milan); the Figge Art Museum (Davenport); the Natural History Museum of Verona; the Palace of Justice of Salerno and the extension of the cemetery on the island of San Michele, in Venice

He designed the Chandelier suspension lamp for FontanaArte, the Corrubedo interior and exterior wall lamp.

He has received numerous awards and honours: Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) and Knight of the United Kingdom for his achievements in the field of architecture.
