Etienne Fermigier was born in 1932.

He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs in 1957, he started his career by opening his own design practice.

During his partnership with Pierre Perrigault, he launches the Meuble et Fonction gallery and works on the different scenes of contemporary French and international furniture such as Italian furniture and Nordic furniture.
It is where is conceived its first issued designs.

Very diversified, the French designer doesn’t only work on lighting and furniture, he also designed objects such as radios, TVs or office furniture. In 1967 he receives the René-Gabriel reward.

He died in an accident in 1973 but left his mark in the decorative art industry.
