Based in Copenhagen, Hvidt & Mølgaard is a Danish company that has only existed 65 years (from 1944 to 2009). Then, in 2009, the latter split into two companies: Hvidt Arkitekter and Holsøe Arkitekter.
The architectural and design firm Hvidt & Mølgaard was founded by these two gentlemen: Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. Having both undertaken training in furniture design, they decided to start their first work in their design studio.
Pioneers of Danish design, these two architects have created many diverse and varied products: from chairs to lights. Their famous AX chair was a great success as well as their Tripod lighting. They both have an avant-garde approach to industrialized production.
Today, their work is exhibited at the MoMA, the National Gallery in Melbourne and the Design Museum in Copenhagen.
