Designstudio Amsell Berlin was established in 2004 in Stockholm, Sweden by Pia Amsell and Barbro Berlin. The studio's work covers product, table, lighting, furniture, interior, pattern and graphic design.
They met while studying at Beckmans School of Design in the mid-1990s, where they studied furniture and product design. Over the years they have, together and individually, designed and developed products for both mass production, smaller collections and handcrafted objects.
In their work, one often finds inspiration in the beauty and intelligence of nature. They combine this with their passion for the multiple possibilities of a material and their curiosity for the needs and desires of people at home and at work. The result is harmonious and functional products for everyday life as well as for celebrations.
Their customers include some of Sweden's leading manufacturers, such as Ikea, BodaNova, Alcro, Klippan Yllefabrik, Ordning&Reda, Rörstrand, Klong, Nordiska Galleriet, Adesso and Cobankeryd.
