Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon is a famously renowned British designer. Artistic manager of Habitat for a long time, he then decides to create his own Tom Dixon brand and win in 2006 the prestigious « Designer of the year title ».

He wants to make living art out of design, that is why he repeatedly shows his creations out during public outdoor exhibitions. At Trafalgar Square exhibition in 2006, people can bring home his polystyrene creations for free. Graphic and inventive lines, use of noble materials like brass or blown glass, and quality of the manufacturing techniques are very characteristic of his work. Former guitarist and self-made designer, his art is born from the perfect balance between « underground » nightlife style and timeless British elegance.

His work is both inspired by innovation and ancestral worldwide techniques. Tom Dixon’s love for noble material in all its forms is seen-through in all his designs. His aim is to absolutely avoid static lights, to do so, he tends to create a lot of movement, light effects to give life to his creations.
